Staff was super helpful giving us access to the mansion and other locations on the property. It's situated on the property of Evins The house is beautiful as well as the grounds. As for what there is to look at, it's mainly Andrew Jackson's house with a few buildings you can walk into but there's not much in them and they're very small, I believe they have an event we're they play some older sport. There is a spring nearby, but it is seasonal and didn't yield much water this trip. Best Hikes in Tennessee REI Co-op Journal Absolutely beautiful fall colors!!!! We had a very nice time there and will return. There are plenty! You could tell the water was cold. Facility was clean and comfortable! We were just traveling through and we saw a billboard and we thought we would stop. The water park is a little expensive but it's so worth your money. Located near Smithville, Tennessee, this waterfall's hike is a bit steep to get to but the reward is ample. In Knoxville, residents will experience lower crime rates, better healthcare, and a better climate. Historic 570-acre park & cemetery with a visitor center & marked trails along Civil War battlefield. Special events are held especially during the fall. Our guide Devin was fun and very well informed on the cave history etc. Encompassing more than 24,000 acres of wilderness area, Frozen Head State Park and Natural Area is named for a 3,324-foot peak in the Cumberland Mountains. (We chose to stay about an hour away in a historic cabin at Cumberland Mountain state park to save money). Best The Hermitage plantation was the home of Andrew Jackson, the seventh President of the United States, and his family from 1804 until his death in 1845. It is a bit challenging for people who have a hard time with stairs, however. If youre passing through and have a couple hours to kill, go for it. Once home to both Confederate & Union soldiers, this plantation now offers tours & activities. Gift shop was reasonably priced and labeled nicely. Compared to other schools in the nation, the public school systems test below average for nationally administered testing. You can spend as little or as long as you like exploring the park. Unfortunately there were a lot of exhibits that only had paragraphs on the wall to read and didn't include the physical objects that really catch your eye and hold your interest.
